About the Role
The role involves leading the design and analysis of marine and waterfront structures, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and providing technical oversight on project execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of marine and waterfront structural engineering projects
- Conduct structural analysis for piers, bulkheads, wharves, and other waterfront facilities
- Prepare design calculations and technical specifications for construction documents
- Review and approve shop drawings and submittals from contractors
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Perform site inspections to verify construction quality and adherence to design
- Coordinate with environmental, geotechnical, and coastal engineering specialists
- Develop construction cost estimates and project schedules
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
- Prepare and present engineering reports to clients and regulatory agencies
- Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
- Oversee third-party peer reviews when required
- Utilize structural modeling software for accurate design simulations
- Address structural failures or deterioration in existing marine infrastructure
- Support emergency response efforts for damaged waterfront structures
