- Manage a local or distributed team to produce wiring diagrams, interconnection details, panel layouts, and elevation drawings.
- Assess the compatibility, control capabilities, and communication protocols of intelligent electronic devices used for protection to ensure seamless integration with SCADA, cybersecurity, and telecom systems.
- Possess working knowledge of IEC 61850 standards, including process bus and system bus architectures, and their application in substation environments.
- Collaborate with SCADA, physical design, and control system engineers to fully integrate protection, monitoring, and control functions.
- Support project execution by aligning design efforts with technical specifications, budget constraints, and timeline goals.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders such as lead engineers, project engineers, designers, drafters, project managers, procurement teams, and support groups.
- Evaluate power system studies—including load flow, fault analysis, relay coordination, and transient performance—conducted by third parties.
- Provide training to clients on the theory, operation, and maintenance of integrated protection and control solutions.
- Lead or assist in factory acceptance testing, field commissioning, and site validation activities.
- Create detailed procedures for outages, system transitions, and testing protocols.
- Establish engineering processes, conduct root cause analyses, implement corrective actions, and verify process effectiveness.
- Support quality assurance initiatives, including compliance with ISO9002 standards.
- Contribute to proposal development by drafting or reviewing technical requirements, estimating labor and material costs, supporting vendor sourcing, resolving technical discrepancies, and validating technical responses.
- Exhibit leadership through humility, transparency in communication, and focused execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution.
