Escape Velocity Entertainment Inc is looking for a Lead Level Designer to lead a team creating AAA maps and player experiences for a shooter game. You'll collaborate with artists, designers, and producers to plan, build, and optimize game levels.
What You'll Do
- Lead a team of level designers to create AAA maps that are exciting to play and visually polished.
- Work with concept artists, environment artists, and gameplay designers on level building processes and metrics.
- Collaborate with producers to plan future work and identify dependencies.
- Create documentation and 2D maps.
- Build best-in-class 3D level geometry that supports traversal and combat.
- Analyze user data, feedback, and heatmaps to understand how maps are functioning and what should change.
- Present and pitch ideas to internal and external teams.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional level design experience.
- Technical expertise in Unreal Engine and/or equivalent AAA game engines.
- Proficiency in visual scripting.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Drawing and Photoshop skills for planning and map design.
- A working knowledge of memory and performance optimization for map content.
Nice to Have
- Background or education in game design, architecture, or traditional art.
