RBC Borealis is looking for a Lead IT Scrum Master to join our Insurance Technology division. In this role, you will lead and contribute to key insurance technology projects by applying RBC's Agile Operating Model, managing stakeholders, and providing governance expertise. You will help drive the data and digital strategy forward.
What You'll Do
- Ensure strong application of Agile Leadership Capabilities through stakeholder and scope management, team leadership, and dependency management.
- Participate in quarterly Program Increment planning, configure JIRA boards, manage scrum of scrums, remove impediments, and facilitate sprint ceremonies.
- Establish and maintain effective project governance routines and facilitate meetings in line with RBC's agile framework.
- Coach teams on agile mindset and SCRUM theory, tailoring your approach to team dynamics and maturity.
- Proactively identify, document, and manage risks and issues with clear mitigation plans.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of Scrum Master experience in a SAFe agile delivery environment.
- Undergraduate degree and a Certified Scrum Master or equivalent certification.
- Extensive working knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies with proven coaching experience.
- Advanced project management skills including planning, scheduling, metrics, risk assessment, and budgeting.
- General management skills in negotiation, communication, and team building.
- Proficiency in JIRA and Confluence.
Nice to Have
- Advanced Certified Scrum Master Certificate and Certified SAFe Practitioner or equivalent.
- Experience working in a matrix environment, such as a large, publicly traded corporation.
- Knowledge of the Insurance domain.
