You'll guide technical strategy in key areas like OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, multi-factor authentication, and modern passkey-based methods, ensuring systems are both secure and seamless.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering professional growth through coaching, feedback, and career development.
- Define and drive technical direction for authentication services, making sound architectural decisions grounded in security best practices.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery using agile methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and progress tracking with tools like Jira.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and peer engineering teams to align on roadmaps, dependencies, and cross-team initiatives.
- Champion engineering excellence by promoting code quality, operational reliability, and continuous improvement across the team.
- Ensure consistent execution by managing planning cycles, operational metrics, and service health.
What We’re Looking For
- At least three years of experience leading engineering teams in a management or senior technical leadership role.
- Proven background in Identity and Access Management, including hands-on work with SSO, MFA, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML.
- Deep familiarity with agile frameworks such as Scrum, and experience managing team workflows and delivery cycles.
- Proficiency with development tracking tools, particularly Jira, for planning and reporting.
- Degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to Have
- Programming experience in Scala or other object-oriented languages.
- Strong software security background with direct experience in authentication technologies.
- Demonstrated passion for developing engineers and cultivating high-performing teams.
- Focus on delivering reliable, innovative software products with an emphasis on long-term maintainability.
Work Environment
This role follows a hybrid model, requiring at least 50% of time each quarter spent in-office or engaging in person with customers, partners, or prospects. Schedules can be adapted to meet business, team, and personal needs. Remote team members have opportunities to gather in person for key events.
