About the Role

Humana Inc. is looking for a Lead – Finance Special Projects to drive targeted process improvement initiatives within the Finance function. This role partners closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional teams to identify, design, and implement solutions that optimize operations, increase efficiency, and promote the adoption of emerging technologies.

What You'll Do

  • Travel into Humana's Louisville headquarters at least 1 time per month.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and their practical applications within Finance.
  • Lead and execute special projects such as benchmarking, process redesign, identification and implementation of automation opportunities, and reporting enhancements.
  • Partner with Finance teams and stakeholders to assess current processes, recommend solutions, and drive execution.
  • Facilitate collaboration and the sharing of best practices across Finance.
  • Develop project plans, manage timelines, and monitor progress.
  • Support the change management process by developing training materials and communications.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project outcomes to leadership.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators and value metrics for process improvement projects.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in benchmarking, process improvement, project management, or transformation initiatives, ideally within Finance.
  • 2+ years of project leadership experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex information and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree.
  • Experience with process design methodologies, automation technologies, and reporting tools.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry or other complex, regulated industry.
