Mahindra & Mahindra is seeking a Lead Engineer - Electrical & Electronics to own the end-to-end development of Human-Machine Interface systems. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and validating HMI solutions for automotive infotainment, instrument clusters, passenger displays, AR HUDs, and mobile applications.
What You'll Do
- Develop comprehensive HMI system requirements aligned with software platforms including Android AOSP, QNX, and Linux.
- Create an intuitive and delightful user experience focused on customer needs.
- Collaborate closely with design, system, software, and validation teams.
- Ensure the HMI is safe, seamless, and compliant with all relevant automotive standards.
- Analyze customer needs and manage system requirements within a requirements database.
- Create and maintain the overall HMI system architecture for seamless integration with vehicle electronics.
- Partner with designers and product managers to craft safe, intuitive interfaces with touch and voice features.
- Work with software developers on embedded platforms like QNX, Linux, and Android.
- Adhere to functional safety standards like ISO 26262 and design to minimize driver distraction.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams of software developers, hardware engineers, and designers.
- Support verification and validation to meet performance targets, reporting and tracking defects to closure.
- Conduct vehicle benchmarking and research customer trends to define new HMI features.
What We're Looking For
- A BE, ME, or MTech in Electronics.
- 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in HMI design, development, implementation, and validation for Infotainment, Cluster, Passenger Display, AR HUD, and Mobile Apps.
- Proven experience taking at least one M6 project from concept to delivery.
- Deep expertise in automotive platforms: Android AOSP, QNX, and Linux.
- Proficiency in programming languages: JAVA, C++, Python, and JavaScript.
- Proficiency with tools: Figma, Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Unreal Engine, Kanzi, QT, Android Studio, Blender, and Maya.
- A strong understanding of system architecture, interfaces like CAN and Ethernet, requirements engineering, and functional safety.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work in a team.
- The ability to analyze and solve complex engineering problems.
- Strong project and team management skills using MS Projects, JIRA, and TEAMS.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with automotive product development lifecycles and standards like ASPICE.
