About the Role

Responsibilities
- Supervise sterile compounding activities performed by pharmacy staff
- Ensure all compounded preparations meet quality and sterility standards
- Review batch records and compounding documentation for accuracy
- Maintain compliance with USP <797> and other regulatory guidelines
- Train team members on proper aseptic techniques and safety protocols
- Troubleshoot compounding process issues and implement corrective actions
- Verify prescription orders for correct formulation and dosage
- Oversee inventory management of sterile components and supplies
- Conduct regular quality assurance checks on finished preparations
- Support validation and testing of new compounding procedures
- Coordinate workflow to meet production deadlines
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of compounding equipment
- Monitor environmental monitoring data for cleanroom compliance
- Participate in internal audits and regulatory inspections
- Promote a culture of safety, accuracy, and accountability
- Respond to pharmacist-on-duty escalations during the shift
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of compounding standards and regulations
- Assist in developing and updating standard operating procedures
- Verify accuracy of labeling and packaging for sterile products
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in compounding operations
- Ensure proper documentation in pharmacy information systems
- Manage waste disposal and hazardous material handling protocols
- Collaborate with quality assurance and operations teams
- Escalate unresolved issues to senior pharmacy leadership
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and prescription data
