About the Role

The role involves leading backend development efforts, mentoring engineers, designing robust APIs, and driving system architecture improvements to support a growing product platform.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of backend services
  • Collaborate with product and frontend teams to deliver integrated features
  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance
  • Define and enforce backend coding standards and best practices
  • Own critical components of the system architecture
  • Troubleshoot production issues across multiple environments
  • Optimize application performance and scalability
  • Participate in sprint planning and technical roadmap discussions
  • Evaluate new technologies for backend infrastructure improvements
  • Ensure system reliability through monitoring and observability
  • Drive incident response and post-mortem processes
  • Work closely with data teams to support analytics pipelines
  • Maintain API documentation and developer tooling
  • Support deployment automation and CI/CD workflows
  • Balance technical debt with feature development
  • Contribute to security reviews and compliance efforts
  • Design data models and manage database schema evolution
  • Integrate third-party services and external APIs
  • Ensure backend systems meet uptime and latency targets
  • Lead backend testing strategies including integration and load testing
  • Foster collaboration between engineering and product stakeholders
  • Promote reusability and modular design in service development
  • Guide technical decisions during product planning phases
