Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) is looking for a Lead Agent Cargo to oversee cargo operations and assigned personnel. You will be responsible for maintaining work quality and ensuring compliance with security and operational procedures.
What You'll Do
- Perform computer data entry and prepare all flight documents.
- Interface with U.S. Customs and prepare all import and export documentation.
- Accept and distribute cargo in accordance with applicable air carrier and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Compile lists of customers for use as sales leads.
- Solicit orders or talk with customers to complete sales.
- Quote prices and terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Estimate date of delivery to customer based on knowledge of company's delivery schedules.
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
- Read and interpret printed instructions; write legibly to complete forms and paperwork.
- Work with different levels of management in communicating issues.
- Perform basic arithmetic operations.
- Report to work on a regular and timely basis.
- Retrieve import and deliver export documents to and from aircraft.
- Maintain satisfactory quantity and quality of work by assigned personnel.
- Explain and demonstrate work procedures and methods including safety.
- Apportion and schedule assigned work.
- Observe and analyze work methods and results.
- Bring problems to the attention of management and assist in the utilization of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Remain cognizant of staff, security contractors, and visitors’ activities and report security breaches or suspicious occurrences.
- Comply with WFS site security procedures for assigned warehouse and other operations.
What We're Looking For
- HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
- Minimum typing speed of 30 WPM.
- Must be at least 18 years of age if position requires driving cargo handling equipment.
- Must have a valid driver's license and Port Authority or Airport Authority (if applicable) permit to use ramp side service roads.
- Ability to drive all cargo handling equipment.
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e., Friday, Saturday and Sunday), holidays and days off.
Nice to Have
- Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
- Previous lead experience helpful.
- Knowledge of company operations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of Worldwide Flight Services Rules and Regulations helpful.
