Shape the future of lab efficiency by transforming complex biological workflows into streamlined, automated processes. In this role, you'll work directly within the lab environment, observing procedures, identifying friction points, and designing digital solutions that reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with lab scientists to map out current workflows and uncover inefficiencies in both physical and digital processes.
- Design and implement automation solutions using platforms like Make, Zapier, and n8n to connect systems and eliminate repetitive tasks.
- Develop lightweight scripts in Python or JavaScript to handle data transformations and integrate lab instruments with digital platforms.
- Ensure seamless data flow from wet lab activities to reporting systems, minimizing human error and data loss.
- Investigate process failures at their root, then design structural fixes that prevent recurrence.
- Build and test minimum viable solutions in real lab settings, refining them based on user feedback.
- Use dashboards in PowerBI, Tableau, or Grafana to track performance and validate improvements with real metrics.
- Apply AI tools daily to accelerate problem-solving and prototype intelligent workflow components.
What We’re Looking For
- A mindset oriented toward optimization—someone who naturally questions how things work and looks for smarter ways to do them.
- Experience automating workflows in technical or operational environments, especially with API integrations and low-code platforms.
- Ability to translate non-technical input from lab staff into functional digital solutions.
- Comfort working with data to measure impact and prove effectiveness of changes.
- Familiarity with lab or healthcare workflows, particularly around DNA sequencing or LIMS systems, is a strong plus.
- Basic scripting skills and experience debugging APIs or building simple serverless functions.
- Fluency in English and the ability to work on-site in Zagreb at least two days per week.
Environment & Culture
You’ll operate in a fast-moving, innovation-focused setting that values agility and evidence-based decisions. While the pace is entrepreneurial, the organization is stable and growing. You’ll work across disciplines, partnering closely with scientists, engineers, and data analysts to continuously refine how work gets done.
This is a hybrid role with flexibility to split time between Zagreb, Ljubljana, and Maribor. Your work will directly influence how efficiently genetic data is processed—contributing to faster, more reliable health insights.
