NSC Global is hiring a L1 NOC Engineer

About the Role

As a L1 NOC Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining the stability and performance of network systems across multiple locations in North America. You'll be responsible for monitoring network activity, identifying and analyzing events, and taking initial steps to resolve issues before escalating when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations of TCE network environments in Calgary, Houston, Charleston (West Virginia), and various field sites across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico
  • Use monitoring tools to detect and assess network events, correlating data to determine root causes
  • Escalate complex issues to higher-tier teams with clear documentation and context
  • Coordinate with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve WAN circuit problems
  • Process and facilitate network change requests for WAN circuits, on-premises data centers, routers, switches, and VPNs
  • Assist in deploying and configuring new network infrastructure for TCE projects
  • Provide hands-on support for infrastructure troubleshooting across different network layers
  • Support procurement, tracking, and distribution of network hardware
  • Maintain accurate configuration records in the CMDB
  • Generate and deliver network performance and status reports as needed
  • Engage with WAN service providers to ensure timely resolution, SLA adherence, and maintenance coordination
  • Ensure compliance with all defined service level agreements for the TCE Data Network

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Computer Science, or currently pursuing certification
  • At least one year of experience in networking technologies and operations
  • Familiarity with data center, LAN, and WAN network equipment
  • Working knowledge of routers, switches, and network infrastructure components
  • Experience with VoIP systems and related capabilities
  • Proficiency with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, What’s Up Gold, or NetScout
  • Understanding of WAN technologies and Cisco networking platforms
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
