Role Overview
This position is responsible for advancing sales and ensuring patient access to pharmaceutical products within a defined region. The ideal candidate will engage with healthcare professionals to share clinically accurate, compliant information and support effective treatment pathways for patients with opioid use disorder.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed established performance targets related to sales and patient access within the assigned territory
- Analyze market data and trends to shape strategic field activities and optimize quarterly and annual outcomes
- Build comprehensive knowledge of local healthcare systems, payer landscapes, and state-specific regulations
- Stay current on industry developments, competitive dynamics, and reimbursement models affecting patient care delivery
- Apply thorough understanding of federal and state policies to guide compliant, effective outreach strategies
- Deliver accurate, FDA-compliant product and disease-state education using approved materials
- Engage with key decision-makers to identify needs, present solutions, resolve access barriers, and follow up on next steps
- Support reimbursement issue resolution in alignment with company protocols to enhance patient and provider experience
- Collaborate across internal teams to ensure coordinated, effective account management
- Maintain fiscal responsibility in managing operational expenses
- Adapt strategies based on evolving customer needs and market conditions
- Uphold the highest standards of compliance, ethics, and professional conduct
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) required
- Minimum of 7 years in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with at least 3 years in sales or field market access roles
- Demonstrated success in specialty pharmacy markets, supported by performance metrics and recognition
- Strong grasp of reimbursement systems for physician-administered therapies
- Proven experience launching products in complex, competitive environments
- Background in selling injectable or implantable specialty medications in clinical settings
- Ability to work independently and identify new opportunities
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain good standing
- Willingness to travel regionally and nationally, including overnight stays up to 50–70% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced business degree (e.g., MBA) is a plus
