Key Account Manager – Modern Trade Channel, Dominican Republic
Role Overview
This position leads the commercial strategy and field execution for key modern trade customers in the Dominican Republic. The ideal candidate will drive sales performance, market share, and brand visibility by developing customer partnerships, executing commercial plans, and ensuring excellence at the point of sale. Success depends on strategic planning, data-driven decision-making, and seamless coordination across functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement commercial strategies tailored to major retail customers in the modern trade sector
- Maximize shelf presence and product availability through effective merchandising and planogram compliance
- Design, launch, and monitor promotional campaigns to boost sales and customer engagement
- Ensure proper placement and visibility of point-of-purchase materials
- Negotiate commercial terms and agreements with key retail partners
- Lead and develop a field sales and trade marketing team, fostering accountability and performance
- Track and report on critical KPIs including volume, revenue, profitability, in-store execution, and market coverage
- Collaborate with marketing, finance, supply chain, and shopper insights teams to align initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and grow market share within the channel
- Maintain compliance with budget guidelines and investment policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 8 years in commercial or sales roles, with a focus on key account management
- In-depth understanding of the Dominican Republic’s retail landscape and modern trade operations
- Proven negotiation skills and strategic mindset with a results-driven approach
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in English
- Strong command of digital tools used in sales and performance tracking
