Zipdev is looking for a Jr Escalation Support Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software in compliance with coding standards. You will work in partnership with cross-functional teams to ensure software deliverables are completed on time and aligned with industry standards, all while embodying our core value to Be authentic.

What You'll Do

Provide detailed support to the Engineering team with high attention to detail.
Design, build, and maintain large-scale production services, web applications, data pipelines, and streaming systems.
Work on systems critical to the organization's current and future operations.
Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
Assist with the improvement of organizational engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and certification of software.
Evaluate code to ensure validity, proper structure, alignment with industry standards, and compatibility with operating systems.
Maintain an understanding of current and new technologies or programming practices through continuing education, reading, and participation in professional conferences, workshops, or groups.

What We're Looking For

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
1+ years of related experience with escalation support or technical support.
Experience with Python.
Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
Solid experience in virtualization platforms such as VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V.
Ability to work independently on projects and processes with close supervision.
Broad theoretical knowledge of the applicable work area.
Ability to situationally adapt and understand new technology and processes as per business requirements.
Knowledge of a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Ability to work constructively and independently under stress and pressure in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
Ability to interact positively and openly with colleagues and external business contacts, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of programming languages and software basics.
Understanding of relevant software development tools including version control, build processes, debuggers, and test frameworks.

Nice to Have

Knowledge of C++ and/or Golang is a plus.

Work remotely Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week (no weekends).
