Zipdev is looking for a Jr Escalation Support Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software in compliance with coding standards. You will work in partnership with cross-functional teams to ensure software deliverables are completed on time and aligned with industry standards, all while embodying our core value to Be authentic.
What You'll Do
- Provide detailed support to the Engineering team with high attention to detail.
- Design, build, and maintain large-scale production services, web applications, data pipelines, and streaming systems.
- Work on systems critical to the organization's current and future operations.
- Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
- Assist with the improvement of organizational engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
- Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and certification of software.
- Evaluate code to ensure validity, proper structure, alignment with industry standards, and compatibility with operating systems.
- Maintain an understanding of current and new technologies or programming practices through continuing education, reading, and participation in professional conferences, workshops, or groups.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- 1+ years of related experience with escalation support or technical support.
- Experience with Python.
- Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Solid experience in virtualization platforms such as VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V.
- Ability to work independently on projects and processes with close supervision.
- Broad theoretical knowledge of the applicable work area.
- Ability to situationally adapt and understand new technology and processes as per business requirements.
- Knowledge of a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to work constructively and independently under stress and pressure in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Ability to interact positively and openly with colleagues and external business contacts, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of programming languages and software basics.
- Understanding of relevant software development tools including version control, build processes, debuggers, and test frameworks.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of C++ and/or Golang is a plus.
