As a Technical Operations Engineer, you'll play a key role in enabling Red Team engagements by maintaining and optimizing the infrastructure that powers client network simulations. You'll serve as the primary technical contact for infrastructure needs across EMEA and META, ensuring systems remain available, secure, and aligned with operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the go-to resource for infrastructure support, resolving issues quickly to minimize disruption to Red Team activities
- Proactively assess system performance and security, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions
- Administer and maintain both Windows and Linux environments, ensuring stability and compliance
- Enforce adherence to internal policies and security best practices across user bases and systems
- Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) projects that integrate into broader automation ecosystems
- Collaborate with team members on system design discussions, upgrades, and long-term planning
- Document configurations, changes, and procedures as systems evolve over time
- Share operational and development responsibilities with peers to ensure resilience and knowledge transfer
What You Bring
- Proven experience supporting production environments and enabling technical teams
- Strong scripting ability using Python and Bash for automation and troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with Unix-based systems via command-line interface
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms—specifically AWS, Azure, or GCP—with demonstrated use of services such as EC2, S3, CloudTrail, and IAM
- Experience writing and interpreting AWS IAM policies
- Familiarity with Git for version control and collaborative development
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, authentication mechanisms, and privilege management
- Knowledge of security frameworks, including system hardening, role-based access controls, and secure handling of secrets and encrypted data
- Experience integrating identity providers using standards like SAML or OIDC
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Understanding of Linux and macOS filesystems, daemons, and shell environments
- Experience deploying command-and-control (C2) infrastructure and redirectors
- Active participation in security communities, such as conference speaking or open-source contributions
- Exposure to Ansible, Docker, Jenkins, LogScale, or Terraform
Work Environment
This is a remote position with primary support responsibilities for EMEA and META regions. Occasional in-person presence at the Reading, UK office is expected (less than 10% of the time).
