Responsibilities
- Examine present and evolving operational settings to aid in shaping future military concepts and capabilities.
- Assess threats posed by state and non-state entities for use in near-term and long-range war gaming scenarios.
- Investigate emerging trends and technologies to determine their potential impact on future operations.
- Act as a specialist in forecasting adversary cyber and electronic warfare capabilities.
- Collaborate with the Office of the Secretary of Defense and Intelligence Community to detect and analyze risks to U.S. national security.
- Perform studies to characterize future adversary strategies, doctrines, and technological capabilities.
- Conduct analysis to define the breadth and framework of the operational environment.
- Offer expert insight on threats and the operational landscape through evaluation and presentation support.
- Support assessment of projected military plans, force structures, systems, and capabilities for future conflict timelines.
- Review and provide feedback on doctrinal and strategic documents from the Army, joint services, and Department of Defense as needed.
- Coordinate input and responses across the Office of the Secretary of Defense and related entities.
