Welocalize is seeking a freelance Japanese Culture and Language Expert to provide specialized knowledge for AI Services projects. In this critical role, you will apply your deep understanding of Japan’s language, customs, and societal nuances to ensure the quality and cultural relevance of AI-driven outputs.
What You'll Do
- Analyze and evaluate AI-generated content for linguistic accuracy and cultural appropriateness
- Provide expert guidance on Japanese language usage, idioms, and regional dialects
- Consult on cultural context, societal norms, and etiquette to inform AI model training
- Review and annotate text or multimedia data to improve AI system performance
- Identify potential cultural sensitivities or biases in AI outputs
What We're Looking For
- Native-level fluency in Japanese with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Deep, lived experience and understanding of Japanese culture, history, and modern society
- Proven ability to explain complex cultural concepts to a non-native audience
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Experience in a professional linguistic, cultural consulting, translation, or related field
