Matrix is hiring a Janitor/Sanitization Worker on a Fly In / Fly Out rotational basis for a remote camp in Bathurst Inlet, Nunavut. You'll maintain cleanliness and sanitation of camp facilities, support kitchen operations, and adhere to strict safety protocols. This role reports directly to the Lead Housekeepers on site.
What You'll Do
- Maintain inventory of all cleaning supplies and paper products for office and washroom facilities.
- Perform all tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures.
- Report all incidents and accidents immediately.
- Practice good housekeeping in your work area at all times.
- Participate in daily Toolbox meetings and complete a daily log.
- Clean and sanitize all toilet and shower facilities.
- Service Pacto toilets daily and help package waste for incineration.
- Sweep and mop all floors in toilet and shower facilities.
- Administer the waste and recycling management program.
- Wash, dry, and replace bed linens as required.
- Take garbage to dumpsters.
- Clean common spaces including the TV room, dining room, laundry room, and rec room.
- Support the First Cook with cleaning in the kitchen as required.
- Assist with receiving groceries on grocery days.
- Assist with cleaning and preventative maintenance on kitchen equipment.
- Participate in Mock Medivac scenarios.
What We're Looking For
- Team player with good interpersonal skills.
- Must be acutely safety minded.
- Legally able to work in Canada.
- 1-2 seasons of experience working in a remote camp setting.
Nice to Have
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office.
- Detail oriented.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and clean drivers abstract.
- OFA Level 1 first aid certification.
Team & Environment
You will report directly to the Lead Housekeepers on site.

- Live-in camp while on shift—charter flights are provided from local communities, Edmonton, or Yellowknife.
