As an IT Payment Analyst, you'll bridge business and technology to deliver robust payment solutions across a multinational landscape. Working within agile teams, you'll transform product goals and market demands into precise technical specifications, ensuring alignment with long-term payment strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and document user stories and business requirements that reflect evolving payment roadmaps
- Collaborate with Product Owners to clarify feature scope, value, and functional fit
- Serve as a subject matter expert on payment issuing, processing, and scheme integration workflows
- Lead workshops and review sessions with internal teams and external partners
- Coordinate with payment processors, clearing networks, and card schemes to ensure functional consistency
- Develop standardized definitions and processes for payment methods to support providers and integrated merchants
- Track and analyze integration outcomes to assess business impact
- Support incident resolution and operational continuity by facilitating communication across stakeholder groups
- Identify improvement opportunities through proactive incident monitoring and root cause analysis
- Design performance metrics and service level indicators to monitor transaction flow stability
- Strengthen cross-functional collaboration to align incident management and new requirement handling
- Ensure accurate and timely communication throughout payment solution lifecycles
- Verify compliance with internal policies, constraints, and core system rules
- Generate comprehensive reports on payment solution performance and service levels
What You Bring
- Proven experience as a Business or Product Analyst in fintech or payments, preferably in a multi-country environment
- Familiarity with retail payment systems including SCT Inst, SEPA, FPS, and RTGS, as well as prepaid platforms
- Working knowledge of ISO 20022 and ISO 8583 message standards
- Ability to craft clear user stories and model system flows using UML, sequence, or state diagrams
- Experience in Scrum or Kanban environments with a focus on delivering tangible business outcomes
- Strong analytical skills with a track record of resolving ambiguity and driving clarity
- Proficiency in MySQL, Oracle, PL/SQL, and NoSQL databases for in-depth data analysis
- Advanced Excel skills for data modeling and manipulation
- Capability to produce structured presentations and data-driven reports
- Understanding of stored procedures, scheduled jobs, and payment interface operations, including transaction authorization flows
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
Technology Environment
Work with core systems using MySQL, Oracle, PL/SQL, NoSQL, Excel, UML, and industry-standard payment messaging formats ISO 20022 and ISO 8583.
Work Arrangement
This role involves occasional travel of approximately 30%, supporting collaboration across international teams and partners.
