About the Role
This role involves providing technical support for end-user devices, maintaining IT infrastructure, and responding to service requests across various sites. The technician ensures systems operate efficiently and assists with installations, repairs, and upgrades.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, and peripherals
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and network devices
- Respond to technical support tickets and user-reported problems
- Perform on-site troubleshooting and repair at multiple locations
- Maintain accurate records of service activities and equipment inventory
- Support the deployment of new technology systems and upgrades
- Assist with the setup and configuration of workstations and mobile devices
- Ensure proper functionality of printers, scanners, and other connected equipment
- Collaborate with IT teams to resolve complex technical issues
- Follow documented procedures for system maintenance and incident response
- Conduct routine inspections of IT equipment in the field
- Assist with user training on standard software applications
- Implement security updates and patches on endpoints
- Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level support teams
- Maintain compliance with organizational IT policies and standards
- Support remote access solutions and connectivity tools
- Assist in managing user accounts and access permissions
- Troubleshoot network connectivity problems at local sites
- Perform data backups and assist with recovery operations
- Work within defined service level agreements for response and resolution times
- Ensure secure handling and disposal of retired equipment
- Participate in after-hours support on a rotational basis
- Document technical configurations and changes
- Support audiovisual systems in meeting rooms and labs
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines during on-site visits
