STERIS is hiring an Investigations Manager to lead the company's global ethics case process. You will be responsible for the intake, tracking, assignment, and oversight of all investigations, ensuring thorough and evidence-based conclusions. This role involves direct collaboration with Compliance, Audit, HR, HSE, and Quality teams to maintain integrity and uphold our Code of Conduct.
What You'll Do
- Lead and conduct complex investigations related to fraud, financial matters, conflicts of interest, expense reports, and inventory theft.
- Coordinate and oversee investigations handled by HR, Quality, and HSE departments.
- Receive, review, and assign all new ethics cases to the appropriate investigator.
- Distribute monthly reminders for updates and prepare summaries of all open cases for committee review.
- Review final investigation reports to ensure conclusions are supported by evidence.
- Prepare quarterly reports for presentation to the full Board of Directors and specialized committees.
- Maintain confidential files for all investigations, including complaints, interviews, and documentation.
- Interview witnesses and reporters to document claims and responses.
- Write final investigation reports for cases you directly handle.
- Train new investigators in proper techniques and review their work.
- Train other involved personnel on investigation methods as needed.
- Maintain your Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation through continuing education.
- Direct the Internal Audit data analytics team to prepare trending analysis for management and the Board.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assign and oversee investigation matters.
- Review, revise, and implement company-wide Code of Conduct and ethics training programs.
- Evaluate the end-to-end investigation process to improve efficiency, clarity, and automation.
- Research, implement, and train investigators on a new ethics case reporting system.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Must hold a professional Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification.
- 7+ years of professional experience in ethics, compliance, audit, or fraud investigation roles.
- Direct experience leading complex investigations (fraud, conflicts of interest, theft).
- Experience reviewing and validating evidence-based conclusions in investigation reports.
- Proven skill in interviewing witnesses and documenting findings.
- Ability to maintain secure files and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Nice to Have
- Additional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), CPA/CA, or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
- Experience preparing and presenting reports to senior leadership and Board committees.
- Experience training others on investigation best practices.
