University of Toronto is hiring an Interventional Cardiologist

About the Role

The University of Toronto's Division of Cardiology at St. Michael's Hospital is hiring a full-time Academic Interventional Cardiologist. In this role, you will provide high-level clinical care, contribute to educational programs, and lead or collaborate on clinical research and quality improvement initiatives within a major academic center.

What You'll Do

  • Participate in the 24/7 Primary Angioplasty/Code STEMI service.
  • Perform inpatient and outpatient clinical activities, including attending on the Cardiac ICU or inpatient cardiology teaching unit.
  • Run outpatient clinics, including specialty clinics such as the SCAD clinic.
  • Support outpatient demands and inpatient consultations.
  • Participate in educational programs in Cardiology at St. Michael's Hospital and the University of Toronto.
  • Lead or collaborate in clinical research and quality improvement programs.

What We're Looking For

  • MD degree or equivalent.
  • Eligible for certification in Cardiology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
  • Eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at the University of Toronto.
  • A skilled coronary interventionalist.

Nice to Have

  • Proven experience and expertise in intra-vascular imaging and/or intra-coronary physiology.
  • Have or be working towards a graduate degree or other advanced training relevant to their area of specialization.
  • A proven academic record of excellence in education or quality improvement.

Team & Environment

The Division currently consists of 25 full-time cardiologists. This position reports to the Head of the Division of Cardiology at St. Michael's Hospital.

  • Estimated remuneration will be commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, and experience.

Work Mode

This is an onsite role located at the St. George (Downtown Toronto) campus.
