Responsibilities
- Assist in the completion of license applications and agreements
- Monitor the progress of export authorization requests through official channels
- Communicate and coordinate with government bodies regarding licensing and policy issues
- Conduct commodity classification analysis, including jurisdiction and CCATS determinations
- Prepare necessary documentation for the export of hardware or technical data
- Support auditing, reporting, recordkeeping, monitoring, and screening processes
- Offer guidance and advice on export and import activities
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years of experience in export control
- Detailed understanding of export control processes (ITAR and EAR)
- Ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment, managing multiple tasks and deadlines
- Experience and skills to effectively communicate with government officials and regulatory agencies
- Proficient in jurisdiction and classification processes, and analyzing qualifications for export authorizations
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, and organizational abilities
Nice to Have
- Proven track record working with Government Agencies (DDTC, DTSA, Commerce/BIS, and international program offices)
- Previous experience in the defense industry related to export/import matters
- Knowledge and experience in the technology release process
