What You'll Do
Provide strategic legal guidance to support the international rollout of financial technology products, working closely with business, product, and compliance teams. Advise on regulatory frameworks governing payments, lending, and banking services across multiple jurisdictions, helping shape compliant and scalable solutions.
Lead the negotiation and drafting of commercial agreements with financial institutions, payment networks, and service providers. Analyze evolving financial regulations in markets such as the UK, Ireland, Canada, and Australia, and deliver practical interpretations to support product development and market entry.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess legal risks in advertising and marketing materials, ensuring alignment with local laws and industry standards. Serve as a key legal partner in designing innovative financial offerings while maintaining adherence to consumer protection, money transmission rules, and card network requirements.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school or equivalent qualification in your jurisdiction, with eligibility to practice in-house law
- Minimum of five years advising on international financial services, with direct experience in regulated markets such as the UK, Ireland, Canada, or Australia
- Demonstrated expertise in financial regulations including banking, credit extension, funds flow, and payment processing
- Proven track record drafting and negotiating commercial and consumer-facing financial agreements
- Experience supporting multi-market product launches and managing concurrent regulatory implementations
- Deep understanding of payments infrastructure and fintech innovation
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, evolving business environment
