United States Remote (Global) Full-time USD 133,500 – 200,000 / year

Camunda is hiring an Internal Events Manager, People Team

Responsibilities

  • Camunda Kickoff (Primary Ownership) The Camunda Kickoff is our largest internal gathering of the year, bringing together Camundi from across the globe for alignment, inspiration, and connection. You will own this event end-to-end, from the first site visit to the final retrospective.
  • Lead all logistics: venue sourcing, contract negotiation, travel coordination, rooming, F&B, AV, and on-site execution, while managing an agency to assist.
  • Manage a network of external vendors with clear SLAs, budgets, and accountability
  • Partner with the CEO, CPO, and functional leaders to shape the agenda and ensure it reflects company strategy and priorities
  • Curate content that is substantive and engaging, not filler. That means working with presenters on narrative, flow, and relevance
  • Build and manage the event budget, track actuals, and report on spend
  • Lead post-event retrospectives and apply learnings to the next cycle
  • Identify and execute moments that reinforce Camunda culture throughout the year: team milestones, recognition events, and seasonal touchpoints
  • Partner with People Business Partners and the broader People team to ensure programming reflects where the company is and where it is going
  • Advise on the events calendar holistically, prioritizing impact and avoiding Camundi fatigue
  • Build scalable processes for event planning, vendor management, and stakeholder communication that the broader team can use
  • Maintain and evolve the internal events playbook
  • Track and report on event effectiveness using clear metrics tied to attendance, engagement, and feedback

Requirements

  • Five or more years of direct, hands-on experience managing corporate or internal events, specifically including large-scale, multi-day gatherings with international attendees.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex logistics, multiple vendors, and senior stakeholders simultaneously without losing the details
  • Strong project management skills. You use systems and tools to stay organized, not just instinct
  • Genuine judgment about what makes a session worth people's time, a room setup that works, and an agenda that holds.
  • Comfort working in ambiguity and iterating quickly.
  • A bias toward action and clear communication when things go sideways

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a remote or distributed environment is a real advantage here, given that most of our gatherings bring together people who rarely see each other in person.
  • Proficiency with standard event and collaboration tools; familiarity with Asana or similar project management software is a plus

What This Role Is Not

This role will not have a large team underneath it, at least not initially. If you are looking for a role where you manage a big department, this is not it. It is an event ownership role, and the right person will carry deep craft in that specific discipline. What you will have is significant ownership, direct access to senior leadership, and the opportunity to shape how a global company comes together. The right person will see that as a feature, not a limitation.

Why Camunda

We are a remote-first company with Camundi across more than 30 countries. Our FAITH values (Focus, Ambition, Integrity, Talent, Humor) are not a poster on the wall. They shape how we hire, how we work, and how we run our business. If you want to work somewhere that takes culture seriously without taking itself too seriously, this might be the right place for you.

What We Have to Offer

Compensation We offer competitive, fair, and transparent compensation. Salary ranges are location-based, with Standard and Major markets (global tech hubs) reflecting local competition. The Annual Total Target Cash (base salary + 100% variable target, where applicable) shown below spans from the minimum in a Standard market to the maximum in a Major market. Equity: We also offer equity (where applicable) through our Virtual Stock Option Plan (VSOP). Benefits & Perks We invest in your wellbeing, growth, and ability to connect, along with perks that support you no matter where you’re based. Our benefits are globally designed and locally delivered where applicable. Remote & Flexible: Work from anywhere with the setup that suits you, home office budget, co-working space support, and flexible time off to recharge when you need it. In Person Connection: We invest in meaningful face time through our Annual Kickoff (Vienna in 2025, Madrid in 2026!), team offsites, and Camundi Connection Budgets, including contributing to meetups while travelling, and local gatherings with fellow Camundi. Health & Wellbeing: Access locally tailored healthcare, Modern Health for global mental wellbeing, and our Live Well Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA), a flexible, global benefit that puts you in control of your whole life, not just work, from: staying active, to caring for family, exploring personal passions, meaningful experiences, and investing in your financial wellbeing. The Live Well program launches in 2026 and scales to €1,000 annually from 2027. Financial Security: Retirement and pension plans (often with company contributions), plus life and disability insurance where relevant.
