EY is seeking an Interim Finance Manager in Osaka to stabilize finance operations during a post-acquisition transition for a healthcare services business. The role focuses on improving cash visibility, establishing basic financial controls, and preparing a structured handover to an incoming CFO, with regular communication to stakeholders in both Japanese and English.
What You'll Do
- Take ownership of day-to-day finance operations, with a focus on cash visibility, payment processing, and vendor management
- Set up a workable payment approval process and basic checks for vendor legitimacy
- Monitor cash inflows/outflows and create a simple cash tracking and reporting cadence
- Support month-end close activities and help reduce close timelines by clarifying roles, inputs, and deadlines
- Map and document core finance workflows (payments, reimbursements, revenue reporting, close, key controls)
- Introduce practical internal controls suitable for the current size and maturity of the organization
- Coordinate with external advisors (e.g., tax/accounting) and support transitions if providers change
- Prepare materials and a handover plan for the incoming CFO (status, risks, open items, process documentation)
- Provide regular updates to management and stakeholders in Japanese and English
What We're Looking For
- Candidates must be residing locally in Osaka
- Ability to work on-site regularly, especially during the initial stabilization phase
- Fluency in both Japanese and English for stakeholder communication
- Experience in interim finance leadership roles
- Proven ability to stabilize finance operations during transition periods
- Experience with manual and undocumented finance processes
- Hands-on experience in cash flow monitoring and reporting
- Experience establishing basic financial controls in small or founder-led organizations
- Ability to document core finance workflows and processes
- Ability to prepare structured handover materials for incoming executives
Team & Environment
Team size is not specified. The role operates within an interim management context alongside the existing finance team and reports to interim management and stakeholders.

Compensation: 7000 - 10000 JPY/hour
Work Mode
