Centene is hiring an Insurance Verification Specialist to play a crucial role in our mission of transforming community health. You'll obtain and verify complete insurance information, manage the prior authorization process, and coordinate benefits to ensure smooth patient care.
What You'll Do
- Obtain and verify insurance eligibility for services and document complete information in the system.
- Perform prior authorizations as required, collaborating with physician offices and insurance companies.
- Collect clinical information such as lab values and diagnosis codes.
- Determine patient's financial responsibilities as stated by their insurance.
- Configure coordination of benefits information on every referral.
- Ensure assignment of benefits are obtained and on file for Medicare claims.
- Bill insurance companies for therapies provided.
- Document all pertinent communication with patients, physicians, and insurance companies.
- Identify and coordinate patient resources like copay cards and assistance programs.
- Handle inbound calls from patients, physician offices, and insurance companies.
- Resolve claim rejections for eligibility, coverage, and other issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
What We're Looking For
- A high school diploma with 1+ years of medical billing or insurance verification experience. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field can substitute for the experience requirement.
Nice to Have
- Direct experience with payors and the prior authorization process.

- Hourly pay range: $15.87 - $27.25 per hour.
