Wilson Elser is seeking an Insurance Coverage/Insurance Litigation Of Counsel to join our team. This role offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement or remote opportunities, collaborating with a national team handling complex cases for domestic and foreign insurers across Colorado and the United States.
What You'll Do
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other critical legal documents
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and offices
- Investigate claims and draft coverage opinion letters
- In coverage litigation matters, draft pleadings, motions, and handle discovery
- Provide clients with insurance coverage advice on a variety of subjects
- Communicate with clients and provide regular status reports
What We're Looking For
- JD from an ABA accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in the state of Colorado
- At least 8 years of defense litigation experience
- 5+ years of dedicated coverage/coverage litigation experience
- Experience drafting coverage opinions in one or more insurance lines such as CGL, property, professional liability, cyber, or intellectual property
- Experience in either or both third-party or first-party claims
- Proven coverage analysis and writing experience
- Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions
- Superior analytical skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Nice to Have
- Experience cross-examining plaintiffs and other fact witnesses
- Experience handling court appearances, depositions, and trial experience
- Trial experience
