Compass Pathways is hiring a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) / Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) to serve as a core member of our Medical Affairs organization. This role connects our science with the broader mental health and neuroscience community, helps shape medical strategy, and supports our work in treatment-resistant depression and PTSD. You will be responsible for developing and managing a geographic territory, serving as a key scientific point of contact.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain scientifically grounded relationships with healthcare professionals, researchers, and thought leaders within your assigned territory.
- Lead in-depth, compliant scientific conversations focused on disease understanding and emerging evidence in treatment-resistant depression and PTSD.
- Anticipate and address scientific questions from external stakeholders by providing accurate, balanced medical information.
- Collect, analyze, and communicate medical insights from the field to inform clinical development and medical strategy.
- Maintain a high level of scientific expertise in relevant therapeutic areas through continuous learning.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of medical education activities, advisory boards, and scientific congress engagements.
- Uphold all ethical, regulatory, and compliance requirements in the conduct of field medical activities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal partners such as Clinical Development and Market Access.
- Provide training to eventual sales and marketing teams.
- For Senior MSLs: Mentor and coach junior MSLs, support onboarding and training, and contribute to broader medical affairs initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Advanced scientific training with associated credentials (e.g., PhD, PharmD, PMHNP, MD).
- Ability to travel up to 75%, including overnight stays and weekends.
- Candidate must reside within the geographic area (Atlantic Coast: GA, SC, NC, VA, TN).
- Engaging and expert communicator of scientific information to a diverse array of audiences.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, listening skills, and emotional intelligence.
- Proven experience of self-motivation, accountability, integrity & teamwork.
- Passion for improving and transforming mental health and full alignment with Compass' values.
Nice to Have
- Previous MSL experience is strongly preferred.
- Background or experience in neuroscience, psychiatry, or psychology.
Team & Environment
You will report to the Director, Medical Science Liaisons and be a core member of the Medical Affairs team.
Work Mode
This role is based locally within the United States on the East Coast, serving the Atlantic Coast territory.
