DaVita is looking for an Insurance Counselor I to serve as a vital, patient-centered resource for our dialysis patients. This role provides education and guidance on health insurance, helping patients understand their options and make informed decisions to reduce financial stress while managing their healthcare needs. You will travel to clinics in Denver, CO, and surrounding areas.

What You'll Do

Conduct patient insurance education while operating within established compliance parameters.
Identify and communicate opportunities to better the patient's insurance status to reduce financial risk and burden.
Provide information to help patients find and/or secure insurance coverage and other financial assistance programs.
Deliver a high level of customer service to patients across multiple DaVita Dialysis facilities.
Complete insurance assessments and evaluations to accurately document patient education sessions.
Act as a liaison between patients, facility teammates, billing, and the corporate office to resolve patient insurance issues.
Build and maintain relationships with field partners to ensure seamless patient support.
Work closely with your supervisor to meet objectives, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
Provide monthly reporting and analysis on key metrics related to patient education and advocacy.
Seek opportunities for continued process improvement and review ideas with team and leadership.
Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and trainings as needed; may assist with onboarding and training.

What We're Looking For

Full vaccination against COVID-19 or a medical/religious exemption.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Basic computer skills, high-speed internet (minimum of 40 GB), and a private workspace.
Secure transportation to DaVita facilities.
Ability to squat, walk, and stand for more than 15 minutes.
Must be okay with the sight of blood.
Valid driver’s license within the state of application with an acceptable driving record.
Reside in Denver, CO or the surrounding area.
Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice to Have

Minimum of two years' experience working with Medicare and Medicaid insurance as well as commercial insurance plans (PPO, HMO, POS, EPO, Indemnity).
Minimum of two years’ experience in a healthcare organization working with clinical staff and patients.
Bilingual/Spanish Speaking.
