Gwinnett Technical College is hiring an Instructor to join its Air Conditioning Technology/HVAC program. In this role, you will prepare lesson plans and teach a mix of face-to-face, hybrid, and online classes while evaluating student progress. You will also be responsible for developing program syllabi, maintaining supplies and certifications, and assisting with student recruitment and retention efforts.
What You'll Do
- Teach credited Air Conditioning Technology courses as assigned, primarily through face-to-face and hybrid classes on campus.
- Deliver effective, individualized instruction using a variety of strategies appropriate for diverse learning styles.
- Prepare lesson plans and ensure classroom and lab activities adhere to technical college and safety requirements.
- Assess student educational needs, track progress, and communicate results according to established guidelines.
- Develop program and course outlines, goals, and objectives, ensuring consistency in syllabi and instructional materials.
- Participate in committee meetings related to curriculum development and college-sponsored activities.
- Request and maintain supplies and equipment, performing classroom inventory and promptly reporting defective items.
- Maintain required program certifications by attending training, workshops, and meetings.
- Prepare and submit all required documentation, administrative reports, and follow-up surveys, analyzing data for program improvement.
- Maintain a presence on campus during regular business hours for meetings and administrative tasks.
What We're Looking For
- Air Conditioning Technology AAT or AAS/AS degree.
- Two years of work experience beyond air conditioning education.
- Must hold a Refrigerant Recovery Certification.
- Must hold a minimum of a Class I restricted State of Georgia License.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
- Ten (10) years of full-time Residential and/or Commercial Air Conditioning service and installation experience.
- K-12 or Postsecondary teaching experience.
Team & Environment
You will report directly to the Dean of Engineering Construction Manufacturing and Design.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position located at our campus in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
