Ellis Medicine's Belanger School of Nursing is hiring an Instructor to join our team. In this role, you will be a key faculty member responsible for teaching and shaping the nursing curriculum across classroom, skills lab, simulation, and clinical environments. You will also contribute to total program development, implementation, and evaluation through leadership and committee work.
What You'll Do
- Act as a faculty member, course coordinator, and/or committee chairperson for the school.
- Teach components of the curriculum and participate in course development activities.
- Ensure all course components are scheduled, delivered, and evaluated on time per school policy.
- Promote evidence-based, student-centered teaching strategies, including active learning and simulation.
- Assess classroom and clinical learning outcomes using systematic processes.
- Advise students on academic and non-academic concerns.
- Establish and maintain relationships with faculty, staff, students, hospital personnel, and community agencies.
- Participate in faculty hiring and orientation.
- Develop and coordinate nursing courses in collaboration with course teams.
- Design course content, select learning experiences, and evaluate student progression.
- Supervise and evaluate student learning in class, clinical, skills, and simulation settings.
- Manage and mentor other faculty members.
- Assume professional nurse leader responsibilities and manage school operations when designated.
- Participate in continuing education and stay current on nursing, education, and legislative trends.
- Serve on school committees and uphold all hospital and school policies.
- Engage in faculty scholarship and evidence-based academic practices.
- As Course Coordinator, lead planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual courses.
- Coordinate course schedules, manage staffing input, and act as a resource for course delivery.
What We're Looking For
- Current licensure and registration in New York State as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- A current driver’s license.
- A master’s degree in nursing.
- Two years of recent clinical nursing experience relevant to the instructional area and/or evidence of leadership behaviors.
Nice to Have
- Prior teaching experience.
