Wake Technical Community College is hiring an Instructor of Mathematics for a full-time, 9-month position starting in the Fall 2026 Semester. You will be responsible for providing effective and engaging instruction in assigned mathematics courses, fostering student success and maintaining academic rigor.
What You'll Do
- Instruct and guide classes in an efficient and effective manner.
- Design curriculum, construct a syllabus, and select appropriate texts.
- Prepare thoroughly for each instructional hour and maintain a safe, orderly learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records of student work, attendance, and grades, returning assessments in a timely manner.
- Counsel students regarding their grades and academic progress.
- Construct classroom materials that support course goals and stay abreast of current teaching methods and technology.
- Use assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching.
- Maintain regular office hours and communication with instructors across divisions.
- Serve on college or department committees and attend professional development opportunities.
- Participate in graduation exercises and complete an annual applied benchmark project.
What We're Looking For
- A Master's degree in Mathematics OR a Master's degree in a related field with 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics.
- One year full-time or equivalent teaching experience in Mathematics.
- Knowledge of and facility with technology including graphing calculators, computers, and web-based resources.
- Intermediate skills with MS Office products including MS Word and Excel.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Three years of teaching experience in Mathematics.
- Community college teaching experience.
- Online teaching experience.
