insightsoftware is seeking an Instructional Designer to join our Professional Services team in Hyderabad. In this role, you will develop self-service e-learning content for our enterprise software products, focusing on creating engaging course materials, videos, and interactive components that make technical concepts accessible to a non-technical audience.
What You'll Do
- Develop course content using Articulate Rise based on provided outlines.
- Write clear introductions and explanations of processes and concepts.
- Structure lesson content in a logical, consumable order.
- Create screenshots with proper highlighting and step notation.
- Design and build interactive components based on content and learning objectives.
- Create videos based on documentation and SME input, dividing topics into logical segments.
- Write demonstration scripts from scratch adhering to guidelines.
- Generate mp3 audio using Speechelo.
- Record video demonstrations in the product environment based on approved scripts.
- Use Camtasia to synchronize audio and video and apply post-recording edits like highlighting and zooming.
- Develop measurable and relevant learning objectives.
- Create meaningful assessment questions with feedback based on learning objectives.
- Develop key points and recaps based on learning objectives.
What We're Looking For
- 3-5 years of instructional design and development experience.
- Experience developing self-service, e-learning training in a software or technical vertical.
- Fluent spoken and written English with proper command of grammar and technical writing.
- Ability to understand and translate technical topics to a non-technical audience.
- Ability to create course outlines based on deliverable goals, content, and target audience.
- Apply critical thinking to determine the best order and segmentation of topics.
- Create learning objectives that drive lesson content and highlight important takeaways.
- Work independently to learn software and articulate software questions to SMEs.
- Develop meaningful assessment questions based on learning objectives including helpful feedback.
- Develop key points and recaps based on learning objectives.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with financial software and concepts (e.g., Consolidation, Financial Reporting, Equity Management, Taxation).
- Familiarity with Business Intelligence software and concepts (e.g., databases, dashboarding, report building).
- Design meaningful exercises for target audience to perform in a sandbox environment.
- Communicate with SMEs throughout course development for input, quality checks, feedback, and approval.
- Work independently.
- Manage own work according to given timeline.
- Communicate with various stakeholders.
- Track and communicate status of deliverables; ability to estimate remaining work effort.
- Apply strict attention to detail, including independent self-review of content before submission.
