insightsoftware is seeking a CTO for its $150M Data & Analytics business unit to serve as the senior technology leader, architecting AI-native platforms to solve enterprise data access and rationalizing an extensive acquired product portfolio. You will lead globally distributed engineering teams and serve as the technical advisor to the CEO and leadership, with direct engagement with the board and PE investors.

What You'll Do

• Drive rationalization of acquired platforms (Logi, Simba, Exago, Izenda, VizLib, FiPlana, PowerON, Cubeware, Agility, and more) into an integrated architecture.
• Design migration strategies that protect revenue while accelerating customers to modern AI-powered solutions.
• Make bold architectural decisions to reduce complexity and unlock innovation capacity.
• Own business unit-wide AI strategy for AI-powered data platforms delivered to customers and used internally.
• Architect Simba Intelligence as the production-grade AI data access layer for secure, governed enterprise data access.
• Expand AI capabilities for Logi Symphony to create intelligent decision engines.
• Expand and scale the use of AI in development workflows for code generation, testing, security scanning, and operational intelligence.
• Build and optimize globally distributed engineering teams across North America, Europe, India, and China.
• Oversee VP of Engineering and partner with VP of Product Management to define operating models.
• Develop the next generation of technical leaders.
• Establish an AI-first engineering culture.
• Modernize platforms to cloud-native architectures while maintaining on-premises and air-gapped capabilities.
• Define technical roadmaps balancing innovation, operational excellence, and market direction.
• Build for global scale supporting ISVs across multiple industries.
• Enable EMEA expansion with data sovereignty and GDPR compliance.
• Present technology strategy and progress directly to PE investors and board members.
• Serve as technical advisor to CEO and business unit leadership.
• Translate technical capabilities into competitive differentiation and business outcomes.

What We're Looking For

• 15+ years technology leadership with 8+ years as CTO/VP Engineering leading 100+ person organizations.
• Scaled platforms from $50M+ to $200M+ revenue with measurable business impact.
• Led platform modernization for enterprise software.
• Built and led global engineering teams across North America, Europe, and Asia with strong retention.
• Engineering degree or equivalent technical depth.
• Track record using AI to transform internal operations.
• Expert in SaaS architecture, cloud-native design, microservices, and platform engineering at scale.
• Deep understanding of data infrastructure: connectivity protocols, semantic layers, data virtualization, modern data stack.
• Experience with embedded analytics, BI tools, and ISV application integration patterns.
• Knowledge of AI/ML systems: GenAI analytics, RAG, LLM applications, agentic AI architectures.
• Expertise in enterprise deployment models: on-premises, cloud, hybrid, air-gapped for regulated industries.
• Understanding of AI-augmented development: ML-powered coding tools, automated testing, intelligent DevOps.
• Hands-on with modern practices: CI/CD, security, observability, developer experience.
• Build organizations that ship—defining strategy while growing team capability to execute.
• Influence across product, sales, marketing, customer success without needing org chart authority.
• Executive presence for board discussions and customer engagement.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and portfolio complexity from acquisitions.
• Balance strategic architecture with pragmatic delivery.
• Transform engineering into growth engines driving revenue outcomes.
• Navigate organizational dynamics with trust-building and momentum.

This role leads a 100+ person organization. You will report to the President and General Manager, Data & Analytics, oversee a VP of Engineering, and partner with a VP of Product Management.
