As an Infrastructure Architect in the UK, you will collaborate closely with defence clients to comprehend their strategic infrastructure and operational objectives, designing and delivering customized, high-performance solutions. You'll leverage profound expertise in cloud and infrastructure technologies within a dynamic environment to engineer the adoption of Red Hat's open source innovations. Note: This role requires active UK highest-level defence security clearance. What you will do: Act as the primary technical strategist and domain expert on-site, transforming intricate business requirements into scalable, secure, and robust infrastructure frameworks. Own the comprehensive infrastructure design methodology, from initial discovery workshops and challenge identification to generating high-level (HLD) and low-level (LLD) design documentation. Conceptualize and prototype solutions using Red Hat's technological ecosystem (OpenShift, Ansible, RHEL) to address complex business and mission-critical challenges. Provide technical guidance and oversight for implementation teams, ensuring solutions are constructed precisely to specifications and align with industry best practices. Interact with senior stakeholders (both technical and non-technical) to present architectural proposals, articulate strategic value, and define technology evolution roadmaps. Remain at the cutting edge of technological advancement, evaluating emerging trends and applying innovative Red Hat solutions to address evolving client requirements. What you will bring: Active, highest-level UK defence security clearance is essential. Profound, expert-level understanding of Linux system administration (RHEL preferred) and performance optimization. Demonstrated architectural and hands-on proficiency with Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, and the surrounding cloud-native technological landscape. Robust background in designing and leading enterprise-scale hybrid cloud implementations and conducting comprehensive business impact assessments. Expertise with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and automation technologies, particularly Red Hat Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent platforms. Extensive experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., RHEV/oVirt, VMware) in large-scale enterprise environments. Proven capability in creating detailed technical architecture documentation (HLD, LLD, network diagrams). Exceptional communication and presentation capabilities, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to senior leadership and technical teams. Strategic problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to manage technical designs, mitigate risks, and deliver project objectives. Willingness to travel to customer sites as required (potentially 25-50%).
