GXO Logistics is looking for an Industrial Engineer to be a key driver of operational excellence. In this role, you will analyze our warehouse processes and facility designs to identify improvements, enhance productivity, and develop strategies that help our teams work smarter and more efficiently.
What You'll Do
- Identify facility design requirements based on activity levels, product profiles, flow, and transportation methods.
- Develop time studies, headcount analyses, efficiency plans, warehouse slotting, and SKU velocity analyses.
- Identify bottlenecks and improve flow by analyzing inbound, outbound, and inventory operations.
- Perform value stream mapping, process improvements, and standardization across multiple sites.
- Assist pricing and solutions teams by providing operational cost data for RFPs.
- Track KPIs and develop basic analytics for all operational metrics.
- Work with vendors to identify operational equipment and automation solutions.
- Develop and manage project plans for major operational improvement activities.
- Support the Maintenance department by developing lists of critical spare parts and a min/max tracker.
- Perform daily P&L tracking for Finance.
- Convert contract documents and proposals into work instructions and submit ISO-compliant SOPs to the Quality Management System (QMS).
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field, or equivalent related work or military experience.
- 1 year of engineering experience.
- Experience with analytical tools such as flow charts, Pareto charts, cause and effect diagrams, and run charts.
- Microsoft Office experience.
Nice to Have
- Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt designation.
- Availability to travel up to 25%.
- Experience with BI software such as Tableau, Power BI, or Data Studio.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information appropriately for the intended audience.
- Ability to compose thorough technical documentation, job aids, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to develop insightful, actionable research with detailed explanations of the drivers behind results.
- Ability to produce unambiguous, comprehensive, and accurate interpretations.
