As an Implementation Engineer, you'll play a key role in enabling merchant success by guiding the technical onboarding and integration of APIs and checkout systems. You'll work directly with external partners to ensure smooth implementation, troubleshooting issues related to authentication, payment processing, webhooks, and data flow.
What You’ll Do
- Support merchants through setup and launch, including custom integrations and e-commerce platforms
- Analyze API requests and responses using tools like Postman and log data to resolve technical hurdles
- Diagnose and debug problems involving subscriptions, payments, and event-driven webhooks
- Collaborate with Support Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to escalate bugs and accelerate resolutions
- Document recurring integration patterns, edge cases, and troubleshooting workflows
- Perform light configuration or data validation tasks in internal systems when needed
What We’re Looking For
- At least 2 years in a technical customer-facing role such as implementation, support engineering, or customer engineering
- Proven experience working with REST APIs, JSON, and HTTP protocols
- Hands-on familiarity with Postman or similar API testing tools
- Understanding of webhook architectures and asynchronous event handling
- Strong written communication skills with a customer-first mindset
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced setting
- Prior experience integrating Shopify platforms is required
Nice to Have
- Background supporting payment processing, subscription models, or checkout experiences
- Exposure to Stripe or other e-commerce infrastructure
- Experience in startup or high-growth environments
- Basic SQL or data analysis skills for debugging
- Previous work in technical roles that interface with clients
Work Environment
This is a fully remote contract position with flexible hours, ideal for self-starters who thrive in independent roles. Some overlap with U.S. business hours is preferred.
