OG&E is hiring an I&C Technician to maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot power plant control systems, ensuring efficient power generation. This position is posted for two skill levels (Level II or Senior), with applicants considered for the higher level they qualify for.
What You'll Do
- Direct activities of I&C contractors and vendors.
- Troubleshoot and maintain all AC/DC control circuits and components.
- Perform required testing of various safety systems such as ESD, fire detection, and gas detection.
- Provide detailed troubleshooting and programming modifications for Programmable Logic Control/Distributed Control Systems and HMI systems.
- Serve as a technical resource to operations personnel and lower technician positions.
- Complete and publish calibration and testing reports for documentation.
- Perform complex maintenance, configuration, and calibration of process and safety instrumentation.
- Serve as a mentor and assist with training entry-level technicians.
- Direct, plan, and conduct assignments of a complex nature, serving in a lead role.
- Schedule and coordinate daily activities with peer operations personnel and negotiate scheduling conflicts.
What We're Looking For
- For Level II: Associate's Degree in a technical discipline AND 1 year experience in Instrumentation & Controls/Industrial Controls; OR High School Diploma/GED AND 3 years experience; OR Prior military experience (one enlistment) AND 2 years experience.
- For Level II: Experience must include 1 year in Instrumentation & Controls/Industrial Controls in a power plant or other process-controlled environment (oil/gas/chemical refining/processing or manufacturing).
- For Senior (Level III): Associate's Degree in a technical discipline AND 5 years experience in Instrumentation & Controls/Industrial Controls; OR High School Diploma/GED AND 7 years experience; OR Prior military experience (one enlistment) AND 6 years experience.
- For Senior (Level III): Experience must include 3 years in Instrumentation & Controls/Industrial Controls in a power plant or other process-controlled environment (oil/gas/chemical refining/processing or manufacturing).
- A certificate of completion from a vocational trade institution in an Instrumentation & Controls/Industrial Controls field is equivalent to 1 year of experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers/Distributed Control Systems and Human Machine Interface equipment, with the ability to make significant programming changes under engineering guidance.
- Ability to read and interpret advanced Instrumentation and control drawings.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude in the use of hand tools.
- Advanced knowledge of fundamental instrumentation and control concepts.
- Advanced knowledge of maintenance, testing, installation, and repair of most types of instrumentation and control components.
- Strong ability to communicate with individuals at various levels throughout the organization.
- Basic computer skills using MS Office.
- Advanced knowledge of AC/DC control circuits and components.
- Demonstrated leadership in IIF (Incident and Injury Free) culture.

Benefits & Compensation
- Level II: $75,046 - $93,746
- Senior: $82,035 - $102,606
