In this role, you will lead the design and integration of hydraulic systems for our underground mining trucks and loaders, delivering innovative solutions and ensuring high-quality, timely project delivery. What You'll Do
- Lead hydraulic system design and integration for underground mining trucks and loaders.
- Design and develop hydraulic circuits, components, and systems for new and existing machines.
- Analyze existing designs and recommend improvements for cost and energy efficiency.
- Select appropriate hydraulic components (pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, filters) based on application requirements.
- Perform system calculations and simulations.
- Drive innovation in hydraulic design and efficiency optimization.
- Evaluate emerging hydraulic technologies and propose adoption strategies for energy-efficient systems.
- Interface with vendors and suppliers to source and validate hydraulic components.
- Perform and check Bills of Materials (BOM), Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and design documentation.
- Follow established design procedures, instructions, and standards like ISO and DIN.
- Provide timely support during prototyping and testing phases.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders through effective collaboration.
- Comply with company policies, values, and business code of practice.
What We're Looking For
- 12 - 16 years of experience in the mining, earth-moving equipment, or off-road vehicle sectors, specifically in mobile hydraulic system design.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Creo and AutoCAD.
- Experience working with a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic system design for mobile applications.
- Solid knowledge of hydraulic principles and engineering materials.
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and testing hydraulic systems.
- Awareness and application of relevant design standards.
- Understanding of vehicle mechanics and system integration.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and detailed design.
- Experience in preparing and releasing Bills of Materials (BOM) and managing engineering changes.
- Basic knowledge of project management principles.
- Highly motivated and optimistic, with the ability to thrive in a global, client-facing environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Exposure to hydraulic system simulation tools is an added advantage.
