About the Role
The technician will diagnose system issues, perform routine maintenance, and ensure all HVAC units operate efficiently and safely across various environments.
Responsibilities
- Install new heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment according to specifications
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure reliability
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems in climate control units
- Repair or replace defective components in HVAC equipment
- Test system functionality after service or installation
- Follow safety protocols during all service procedures
- Respond to emergency service calls promptly
- Inspect systems for compliance with industry standards
- Adjust system settings for optimal efficiency
- Maintain accurate service records and logs
- Communicate clearly with clients about system performance
- Recommend system upgrades when appropriate
- Handle refrigerants in compliance with environmental regulations
- Use diagnostic tools to assess system performance
- Ensure proper airflow and temperature control in buildings
- Work with blueprints and technical schematics
- Collaborate with team members on complex installations
- Adhere to local building codes and regulations
- Provide estimates for repair and replacement services
- Operate hand and power tools safely
- Manage inventory of replacement parts
- Stay current with HVAC technology advancements
- Support apprentices and junior technicians
- Complete service reports accurately and on time
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
