About the Role
The technician will handle installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems for a variety of clients, ensuring reliable operation and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Install new HVAC systems according to manufacturer and safety guidelines
- Perform routine maintenance on heating and cooling units
- Diagnose system malfunctions using technical tools and customer reports
- Repair or replace defective components such as thermostats, compressors, and motors
- Test system functionality after service interventions
- Follow safety protocols when handling refrigerants and electrical systems
- Respond to emergency service calls promptly
- Document service activities and customer interactions
- Comply with local, state, and federal HVAC regulations
- Provide customers with clear explanations of system issues and solutions
- Recommend system upgrades or replacements when necessary
- Maintain service vehicle and tools in working order
- Adhere to scheduled service appointments
- Work in various environments including tight spaces and extreme temperatures
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Interpret blueprints and technical schematics
- Ensure proper airflow and system efficiency during installations
- Collaborate with team members on complex jobs
- Keep work areas clean and safe during and after service
- Stay current with evolving HVAC technologies and best practices
Nice to Have
- EPA 608 Certification
- Experience with smart thermostats and zoning systems
- Background in commercial HVAC systems
- Additional certifications in electrical or plumbing
- Experience using service management software
