AFRY is looking for an experienced HVAC Designer to join our team working on projects in Switzerland. You will be responsible for designing complex HVAC systems, including sizing, component selection, 3D modeling, and coordination with other disciplines, primarily for buildings, industrial facilities, and data centers.

What You'll Do

Create, interpret, and adapt P&ID schematics for complex HVAC systems.
Size hydraulic networks using dedicated software and select appropriate equipment.
Select HVAC system components, such as chillers, water circulation, and expansion systems.
Apply redundancy concepts in planning and execution.
Coordinate with other disciplines, both geometrically and functionally.
Develop and implement control concepts for HVAC systems.
Commission HVAC systems in datacenter or industrial environments.
Perform 3D modeling and prepare scheme drawings.
Extract and calculate Bills of Quantities (BoQ).
Coordinate the work of junior designers.

What We're Looking For

A Bachelor’s degree or higher in HVAC engineering or a vocational training in HVAC.
A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
Solid knowledge of HVAC technology and its components.
Many years of experience in an engineering office.
Experience with industry-specific software for network sizing and system design.
Experience in datacenters and industrial facilities.
Understanding of technical concepts such as redundancy, control, and system integration.
Familiarity with CDE (Common Data Environment) management.
A deep understanding of the BIM process.
An independent and structured working style with flexibility for challenging projects.
Ability to collaborate across disciplines and coordinate projects.
Language proficiency in English to a B2 level.

Nice to Have

8-12 years of experience.
Proficiency in Revit MEP.
Experience generating BoQs from Revit for bids and cost estimates.
Technical leadership potential for small teams.
Italian or German language skills.
Remote work capability and the ability to operate autonomously in a distributed environment.
