About the Role

At Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), we’re shaping the future of real estate for a better world. We are hiring an HSSE Director to manage the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our HSSE management systems at Client facilities. Reporting to the JLL HSSE Global Account Director, you will provide guidance, identify resources, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and Client requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Provide leadership and support the development and implementation of HSSE management systems and compliance programs at Client sites.
  • Support the development of roles and responsibilities for safety, health, and environmental risks related to JLL scope.
  • Work with JLL Account and Life Science teams to establish HSSE performance goals and review performance against those goals.
  • Ensure tracking and reporting of HSSE metrics and measure performance against key performance indicators.
  • Direct the implementation of HSSE Committees suitable to the site’s needs.
  • Support the development of workplace risk assessments for safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Implement HSSE qualification program to manage JLL service partners working at Client locations.
  • Ensure activities related to the management of Hazardous Waste and Dangerous Good shipments are compliant.
  • Identify training requirements and coordinate training sessions for HSSE regulatory and Client training requirements.
  • Perform audit/inspections as needed and ensure required records are available according to regulatory, client and JLL requirements.
  • Ensure HSSE policies and procedures are developed, updated, implemented, and followed.
  • Assist JLL Site Teams in accident investigation and communication process including root cause identification.
  • Maintain a collaborative partnership with Client HSSE organization.
  • Drive implementation of programs and initiatives to foster a strong HSSE culture.
  • Promote the ‘One Team S.A.F.E.R Together’ Program to foster a strong safety culture.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, or related subject and/or appropriate recognized Professional HSSE qualifications or experience.
  • Broad-based knowledge of Environmental, Occupational Health, and Safety regulations in local countries.
  • Proven solid experience with working with HSSE compliance and management systems, preferably within facility operations.
  • Certificates that prove your HSSE expertise if required by home/country location.
  • Success working with subcontractors/vendors supporting mutual safety objectives.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the appropriate ability to coach and educate at site level.
  • Basic computer skills with MS Office Suite and database applications.
  • Ability to drive and inspect both outdoor and indoor areas to observe compliance with established programs.
  • Expertise in the management of high-risk work (work at heights, electrical work, confined spaces as examples).
  • Willingness to travel within Europe up to 20% of the time when necessary.
  • Must have good English skills.
  • Positive, proactive, energetic approach to safety management.
  • Evidence of strong interpersonal skills to establish credibility with colleagues and senior management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ISO 45001 and 14001 management systems.
  • Identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance.
  • Strong cultural awareness: unwavering ethical standards; drives excellence and innately collaborative.

Nice to Have

  • HSSE experience in biopharmaceutical, research or maintenance operations is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Enhesa, CMO, AI/ChatGPT a plus.
  • Practical working knowledge of up-to-date tools and techniques.
