About the Role
This position leads health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure regulatory compliance and promote a culture of safety across operations. The individual will manage risk mitigation, incident investigations, and safety training.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of health, safety, and environmental policies
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Investigate workplace incidents and recommend corrective actions
- Deliver safety training programs for employees and contractors
- Monitor safety performance metrics and report findings
- Coordinate emergency response planning and drills
- Maintain safety documentation and records
- Support operational teams in hazard identification
- Promote a proactive safety culture across all levels
- Review contractor safety protocols prior to project start
- Assist in risk assessment for new or modified processes
- Track and analyze incident trends to prevent recurrence
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment
- Lead safety committee meetings and action follow-ups
- Implement environmental protection measures
- Manage regulatory reporting requirements
- Oversee permit compliance for hazardous materials
- Support continuous improvement in safety practices
- Collaborate with leadership on safety strategy
