Guidehouse Managed Services LLC is hiring a Remote Inpatient Coder to support our healthcare clients. In this role, you will review clinical documentation and diagnostic results to extract data and apply appropriate codes for billing, reporting, research, and regulatory compliance, working under the direction of the coding manager.

What You'll Do

• Review clinical documentation and diagnostic results to extract data and apply appropriate ICD-10, PCS, and CPT/HCPCS codes.
• Accurately code conditions and procedures as documented in accordance with official coding guidelines from ICD-10-CM, CMS, and other regulatory bodies.
• Maintain a working knowledge of ICD-9-10 PCS and CPT coding principles, governmental regulations, and third-party documentation and billing requirements.
• Ensure all services documented in patient charts are coded with appropriate ICD-10/PCS codes.
• Attain proper documentation in a timely manner when services or diagnoses are not documented appropriately.
• Achieve and maintain 95% accuracy in coding while maintaining a high level of productivity.
• Maintain average productivity standards of 2 inpatient charts per hour.

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma (relevant experience may be substituted).
• 5+ years of Medical Coding experience.
• CCS, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA Certification from AHIMA or CIC is required.
• Experience working in systems such as EPIC and 3M.
• Advanced knowledge of Coding clinics ICD-10-CM and PCS.
• Must maintain certification while employed.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience working with CDI and physician queries.
• Ability to analyze Provider documentation and assign codes accurately.
• Strong knowledge and application of Government and other payer guidelines as they relate to compliant coding.
• Working knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology as well as Medical Terminology.
