Rocky Mountain Classical Academy is looking for a Middle School History Teacher to develop and deliver engaging instruction aligned with our Core Knowledge/Classical curriculum standards. In this role, you will foster a supportive, inclusive, and academically challenging classroom environment that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning.
What You'll Do
- Teach assigned history classes following Core Knowledge/Classical curriculum guides.
- Utilize effective teaching techniques to achieve curriculum goals and address the whole child's development.
- Employ a variety of instructional aids, methods, and materials to provide creative teaching experiences.
- Plan programs of study tailored to individual student needs, interests, and abilities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and attractive classroom environment with proper discipline.
- Keep accurate attendance, grade records, and student progress reports using the student information system.
- Assess student learning regularly and provide progress reports, feedback, and deficiency notices.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administration regarding academic progress.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences and maintain a teacher page on the school website.
- Submit lesson plans, objectives, and quarterly materials as requested.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop programs and enhance curriculum.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
- Manage and maintain school-owned resources and perform additional duties like carpool or recess supervision.
