About the Role

The role involves identifying, evaluating, and managing cultural heritage resources in support of infrastructure and development projects. The specialist will conduct field surveys, data analysis, and provide recommendations to meet regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field surveys to identify cultural heritage sites and artifacts
  • Prepare and submit technical reports on heritage assessments
  • Evaluate the significance of historical and archaeological resources
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local heritage regulations
  • Collaborate with project teams on environmental and planning initiatives
  • Participate in public consultations related to heritage impacts
  • Review project plans for potential effects on cultural resources
  • Develop mitigation strategies for heritage sites affected by development
  • Maintain accurate records of survey data and findings
  • Use GIS and mapping tools to document site locations
  • Support the preparation of environmental impact statements
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies on heritage-related approvals
  • Perform literature reviews and archival research
  • Assist in the development of cultural resource management plans
  • Train team members on heritage compliance protocols
  • Attend project meetings to provide heritage expertise
  • Manage multiple assignments within established timelines
  • Conduct site inspections during construction phases
  • Interpret regulatory guidelines for project teams
  • Support due diligence efforts for land acquisition
  • Present findings to clients and stakeholders
  • Respond to information requests from government bodies
  • Work in both office and field environments
  • Adapt methodologies to meet project-specific needs
  • Follow health and safety procedures during fieldwork
