About the Role
The practitioner will conduct psychiatric evaluations, manage medication, and provide therapy to patients through virtual platforms, ensuring continuity of care and adherence to clinical standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations via telehealth
- Diagnose and treat mental health conditions in adults and adolescents
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as necessary
- Document clinical findings in electronic health records
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
- Provide crisis intervention when required
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations
- Maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge and licensure
- Conduct follow-up appointments to support recovery
- Engage patients in shared decision-making about care
- Address co-occurring medical and psychiatric conditions
- Respond to patient messages within established timeframes
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Adhere to ethical standards in remote practice
- Support patient education on mental health topics
- Coordinate care with primary care providers
- Use evidence-based practices in treatment delivery
- Complete prior authorizations for medications
- Attend team meetings and case reviews
- Follow organizational policies and procedures
- Uphold patient confidentiality in all interactions
- Respond to urgent clinical situations promptly
- Contribute to clinical documentation accuracy
Nice to Have
- Three or more years of PMHNP experience
- Experience in outpatient behavioral health settings
- Training in cognitive behavioral therapy
- Experience with EPCS compliance
- Familiarity with psychiatric pharmacogenomics
- Leadership experience in clinical teams
- Participation in peer review processes
- Prior work in federally qualified health centers
